Visuel PhotonHub Europe de l'actualité du Laboratoire Hubert Curien

The PhotonHub Europe project, a new pan-European centre for digital innovation in photonics, is benefiting from an investment of €19 million as part of the European Horizon 2020 programme. PhotonHub Europe will help European SMEs and medium-sized enterprises to become highly competitive digital businesses through the faster and smarter deployment of photonics-based technologies. To this end, PhotonHub Europe will establish a unique photonics innovation hub that will integrate all the best photonics technologies, facilities, skills and experience from 53 leading competence centres across Europe under one roof as a one-stop-shop solution with open access for any company wishing to innovate in photonics, anywhere in Europe.

The Hubert Curien laboratory, UMR CNRS 5516 of the University of Saint-Etienne and the Institut d'Optique Graduate school will participate in the R&D activities of the PhotonHub Europe project through its experimental platforms in photonics (Ultrafast Lasers, Characterisation/Irradiation, NanoSaintEtienne Clean Room) and the researchers of its Photonic Optics and Microwave department. The laboratory and, more broadly, the Jean Monnet University will also participate in PhotonHub Europe's training activities through the MANUTECH SLEIGHT University Research School (Surfaces Light EngineerinG Health and SocieTy) financed within the framework of the PIA3 Future Investment Plan.
