Visiting KTH

Logo de KTH

Mid-October, Riad Haidar (Deputy Director General for Education at Institut d'Optique), went to Stockholm, Sweden to meet our colleagues from the School of Engineering Sciences of KTH (Royal Institute of Technology).

This visit took place within the framework of the agreement that links the Institute of Optics to this school of KTH since 2012. This exchange and double-degree agreement allowed some forty students of SupOptique to join the program of CivilIngenjor (Master in Science & Engineering) as part of the double degree or for a semester of simple exchange.

The aim of Riad Haidar's visit was therefore to reinforce our links and especially to highlight the advantages of optics and photonics in general, and of the Institute in particular. He was able to discuss these topics with Professors Michael Hanke, Head of Internationalization, and Martin Viklund, Head of the program in Engineering Physics. In particular, Riad Haidar wanted teacher exchanges to be set up to reinforce our mutual knowledge, in the form of visiting professors in our respective curricula. Research professors from both institutions have already expressed interest, and discussions are underway for implementation this year.
